The work itself
Replacing a fixture at an existing location is different from creating a new location with new wiring. A diagnosis is different from a known installation. Explain whether you need an existing issue investigated or a clearly defined change.
Access and distance
Finished walls, ceiling height, attic or crawlspace access, exterior routing, and distance from electrical equipment can change the work involved. Describe the space and any access restrictions.
Equipment and materials
Fixture weight, charger specifications, appliance requirements, and the condition of existing equipment all affect scope. Ask who supplies each item and whether any selections are still allowances.
Coordination and finishing
Discuss permits, inspections, utility involvement, scheduling with other trades, and any drywall, painting, or landscape restoration. Ask which of these are included and which need separate arrangements.
Visits, deposits, and payment
Before confirming a visit, ask about any diagnostic or estimate charge. When reviewing the proposal, confirm accepted payment methods, any deposit, and the payment schedule directly with Guardian.
Changes after work starts
If the scope changes or previously concealed conditions affect the plan, ask how the change will be described and priced before additional work is authorized.
