Appliances and fixtures can have different electrical and installation requirements even when they look similar. Keep a simple selection list with manufacturer, model number, product link, and intended location. Mark undecided choices clearly so they can be discussed before they become last-minute changes.
Talk about lighting and controls together.
Deciding where a pendant hangs is only one part of the conversation. Discuss how you will use the light, where the controls should be, and whether dimming is part of the plan. Bring fixture information and a layout showing major cabinetry or furniture so the electrical work can be considered alongside the room.
Connect the electrical plan to the build schedule.
Share drawings, the general contractor’s contact, and the target timeline. Ask how electrical rough-in, any required inspections, and finish installation fit into the project. Permit and inspection requirements depend on the work and location; they should be confirmed for the actual project rather than assumed.
