A photo helps connect your description to the actual space. The most helpful set explains where the work is, what is already there, and what you want to change. You do not need professional equipment or a perfect picture.
Begin with the room, not just the detail.
Take a wide view from a safe, ordinary standing position. Show the wall, ceiling, or area where the work is proposed. A wider view gives context that a tightly cropped picture of an outlet or light cannot provide. If the location is out of reach, describe it rather than climbing for the shot.
Add the existing setup.
If it is safe, include a closer view of the existing fixture or the outside of the equipment. For a panel discussion, a photograph of the closed exterior is enough to begin. Leave electrical covers in place. Do not open equipment, touch wiring, or approach anything that appears damaged to obtain a photo.

Explain what the camera cannot.
Pair the photos with a short description. Mention whether you want to replace something, move it, or add something new. If the issue is intermittent, explain when you noticed it; do not try to make it happen again for a picture. For a selected product, its model number or manufacturer specifications are often more useful than a photo of the box.
Keep the upload relevant.
Review the images before attaching them. Avoid including people, private documents, alarm codes, or other unrelated personal information. Use the accepted formats and file-size limits shown on the request form. After submission, look for the confirmation on screen; if sending fails, keep your details and use the call or email option.
Treat photos as a starting point.
An image cannot reveal every wiring condition, confirm capacity, or establish a final installation plan. Photos help Guardian understand the request and discuss the next step. The project may still need an on-site evaluation before the scope and price can be finalized. For immediate danger, skip the photo and get to safety.
