A good dimmer installation starts with the lights, their drivers and the way the room is controlled. Guardian reviews compatible options, replaces unsuitable controls and investigates flickering or limited dimming before recommending a device.

An LED label alone does not establish that a lamp or fixture can be dimmed. The selected dimmer must suit the dimmable light source and its electrical requirements. Keep fixture, bulb and driver model information when available.
Use manufacturer information such as Leviton’s LED compatibility resources to check specific combinations. A control that works with one lamp may behave differently with another. The dimmer buying guide also distinguishes lamp types and control arrangements.
Tell Guardian whether the lights are controlled from one doorway, two locations or several locations. Multi-location dimming may require designated companion controls rather than a second ordinary dimmer. Leviton’s multi-dimmer guidance explains that compatibility depends on the product line.
Available wiring, including any neutral required by the selected model, must be reviewed before installation is confirmed. For app, voice or scheduling features, discuss smart-home controls as part of the same plan.
Describe whether the problem happens at low brightness, during startup or throughout the dimming range. Note whether every lamp is affected and whether bulbs, fixtures or controls were recently changed. Provide the exact models where possible.
The investigation may involve the lamp, driver, dimmer or an electrical connection. Do not assume another dimmer will resolve an unrelated fault. Leave wallplates in place when taking photos; unusual heat, burning smells or visible damage need electrical assessment.
Identify each lighting group, the number of fixtures, the desired control points and any preferred finish. A request for one replacement dimmer differs from adding several lighting zones or changing existing wiring.
Guardian discusses compatible controls, access, testing and the proposed scope before work begins. New fixtures, wall repairs or network setup should be identified separately. If only on/off operation is needed, compare ordinary light switches before choosing extra features.

No. The lights must be dimmable, and the dimmer must be suitable for the specific lamp or fixture arrangement. Model information helps establish compatibility.
Some systems support compatible companion controls. The product line and control arrangement determine what can be installed; two ordinary dimmers are not a universal solution.
Requirements vary by model. Guardian checks the selected control and available wiring before confirming installation. Do not open a wallbox to investigate for the request.
