More useful power where you need it
A home office, a new laundry area or a garage freezer can change how a room uses electricity. Tell us what you want to operate, where the equipment will sit and whether an existing circuit trips. We review the present wiring and connected loads before deciding whether to extend a suitable circuit or install a separate supply.
15-amp and 20-amp circuit planning
Many everyday household circuits are rated 15 or 20 amps, but a customer should not choose the breaker from the appliance plug alone. Wiring, device ratings, intended use and required protection all matter. Adding a higher-rated breaker to stop tripping is not a capacity upgrade. We assess the whole circuit and specify compatible components for the job.
Lighting, laundry and appliance uses
Common requests include new bedroom or office receptacles, lighting circuits, washing-machine power, a refrigerator or freezer connection, and a microwave location. Some equipment needs its own circuit or a particular connection arrangement. We use the actual model requirements rather than assuming every appliance can share the nearest outlet. For larger equipment, see our 240-volt circuit page.
New installation or a circuit that stopped working
Describe whether every outlet in the room is affected or just one device, and whether the issue began after equipment was added. That distinction helps plan diagnosis. A failed device, protection device, connection or appliance can produce similar symptoms. Guardian can trace the building electrical problem and discuss the repair before proceeding.
What to prepare for an estimate
Provide the intended equipment, a simple room layout and the location of the electrical panel. Access through finished walls, ceilings and floors affects routing and restoration. For an occupied office or business, identify when power can be interrupted. We explain the proposed work and any wall repair or other-trade responsibilities.
Guardian serves homes and businesses in Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest, all of Horry County and all of Georgetown County. We travel to your property; share the address and scope so we can discuss the next step. See our service areas.
Questions about 120-volt circuits for everyday power
Do 110V and 120V searches refer to the same kind of work?
People often use 110V to describe ordinary household power. Share the actual equipment label and connection so we can confirm its requirements.
Can you add just one outlet?
Yes. A small addition is a valid service request. We check whether the existing circuit is suitable and discuss a new circuit if needed.
Will a new outlet give me more circuit capacity?
An additional outlet on the same circuit does not increase that circuit’s capacity. We review what will be used before selecting the approach.
