Match the circuit to the dryer
Full-size electric dryers, gas dryers, compact units and heat-pump models can have different electrical requirements. Send the model rather than assuming the new appliance matches the old one. We review the specified voltage, connection and circuit protection before confirming the installation. Washing-machine power and stacked or combination appliances should be included in the same discussion.
Three-prong and four-prong dryer connections
If the new dryer cord and wall receptacle do not match, have the existing installation assessed. The receptacle shape does not reveal the complete wiring arrangement. We review the circuit and manufacturer’s instructions and explain the appropriate correction. A cord swap or adapter should not be treated as proof that the installation is suitable.
A new laundry room or a moved connection
Tell us whether the dryer is staying in the same position, moving across the room or relocating to another floor. New cabinetry, stacking arrangements and access behind equipment affect the connection location. We coordinate electrical work with the room layout. Venting, plumbing, gas connections and appliance delivery should have clear responsibilities in the project plan.
Dryer running without heat or losing power
A dryer that turns but does not heat can have an electrical supply problem, although appliance and airflow faults can also cause drying problems. GE’s electric dryer guidance describes how incomplete supply can affect heating. Guardian can assess the building circuit and connection; internal appliance repairs or vent work may need the appropriate service provider.
Tell us about visible damage
Mention a loose receptacle, discoloration, a burning odor or repeated breaker trips when contacting us. Stop using a damaged connection. Do not pull out heavy equipment or remove electrical covers to take a photo. A picture of the accessible outlet area and the appliance model information is enough to start the conversation.

Questions about dryer outlets and laundry circuits
Can you install a new electric dryer circuit?
Yes. We assess the appliance requirements, panel capacity and wiring route, then quote the appropriate circuit and connection.
Can you help with washing-machine outlets too?
Yes. Include the washer or combined laundry unit in the request so the whole laundry area can be planned together.
Does a dryer outlet repair include appliance repair?
Our quoted work defines the electrical circuit and connection scope. Internal appliance, gas, plumbing and vent repairs should be confirmed separately.
