30-amp and 50-amp RV connections differ
A common 30-amp RV connection uses a TT-30 receptacle on a 120V supply. A common 50-amp RV connection uses a 14-50 receptacle on a 120/240V supply. The configurations and supply arrangements differ; a 30-amp RV outlet is not the same connection as a typical 30-amp electric-dryer outlet.
Send the RV model and connection information before equipment is selected. An adapter changes how plugs connect; it does not increase the available circuit capacity or make an unsuitable installation correct. Guardian reviews the intended use and complete supply.
Parking location and outdoor equipment
Tell us where the RV parks, which side carries its connection and whether the space is for storage or regular use. An outlet on a building and a freestanding pedestal involve different mounting and wiring arrangements. The equipment must suit the exposure and remain accessible.
The distance from the existing electrical equipment, paving, landscaping and routing affect the work. Identify other planned construction and who handles any excavation or surface restoration. Discuss future needs before the route is fixed, without assuming a larger service is always necessary.
Review capacity before promising simultaneous loads
Charging batteries during storage and operating air conditioning or other RV equipment place different demands on the supply. The property’s existing loads also matter. An unused breaker position is not proof that the service can support the new hookup.
For an existing problem, describe loss of power, visible damage or repeated tripping. Stop using damaged connections and leave testing to a professional. Work on the property’s electrical supply and work inside the vehicle should have clear boundaries.
What affects the estimate
Receptacle type, equipment enclosure, wiring route, mounting, access and any required distribution changes shape the proposal. Share the address, RV details and requested timing. For a managed or shared property, include the person authorized to approve the installation.

Questions about rv outlets and electrical hookups
Can you add an RV hookup at my home?
Yes. Guardian reviews the location, vehicle requirements and electrical capacity. Site use and any property approvals should be confirmed separately from the electrical proposal.
Can I use an existing dryer outlet for the RV?
Do not assume it is suitable because the amperage or plug looks similar. The voltage, wiring and receptacle configuration must match the actual RV connection.
Does installing a hookup include work inside the RV?
The proposal should identify the property-side circuit and connection. RV internal wiring or appliance repairs require a separately confirmed scope.
