Temporary power is a complete arrangement
A construction-power setup may involve meter and service equipment, distribution and protected outlets suited to the jobsite. The utility determines connection requirements at the address. A temporary pole or enclosure is not ready simply because outlets are attached; the design, installation, inspection and utility process must be completed.
A CLEAR PLAN FROM THE FIRST CONVERSATION
What the work involves
Review the plans and intended use
Walk through the construction or renovation scope, equipment loads and desired outlet, switch and lighting locations.
Coordinate rough-in and finish work
Plan wiring routes and project stages around framing, other trades and access. Define what is included in electrical work and any separate finish repairs.
Confirm scope, permits and scheduling
We identify permit and inspection requirements for the property jurisdiction. Utility coordination is included when the work affects its equipment or supply. You receive the proposed scope before approving the work.
Complete the work and check operation
We complete the agreed electrical work, test the relevant installation and explain operation, findings and any follow-up. Required official inspections are a separate part of completion.

Know the loads and the site
Provide the site plan, expected tools and equipment, building stages and the preferred location. Consider access for delivery vehicles, excavation and where power will be needed as construction progresses. Large equipment or several simultaneous loads can change the design. The location should allow appropriate utility access and protect equipment from damage.

Coordinate the schedule
The builder or authorized site representative should establish permit, inspection and utility responsibilities. Lead times are confirmed with the parties involved; we do not promise same-day energization from the electrical installation alone. Changes to the site layout can affect approved routes and access.
Transition to permanent service
Temporary and permanent equipment serve different phases of the project. The construction plan should identify when the permanent service will be available, which temporary components will be removed and who is responsible for site restoration. For new construction wiring, planning both stages together can avoid unnecessary relocation work.

Planning work at your business
Send the drawings, equipment specifications, site address and target schedule for a scoped proposal. Identify the person authorized to approve the work and any landlord or property-management requirements.
- Access and interruptions: identify operating hours, restricted rooms and equipment that must remain available. Shutdowns and any phased or after-hours work must be agreed before scheduling.
- Bid requirements: share your insurance-document requests, site safety procedures, permit requirements and closeout checklist so we can confirm what the project needs.
- Scope and responsibility: identify who supplies equipment, coordinates other trades and approves changes. Ask about testing and completion documentation for the proposed work.

Service area, permits and scheduling
Inside city limits, the City of Myrtle Beach Construction Services Department handles electrical trade permits and inspections. In unincorporated Horry County, the relevant authority is Horry County Code Enforcement. The property jurisdiction and proposed scope determine the requirements; a Myrtle Beach mailing address alone does not establish the responsible department.
Santee Cooper serves Myrtle Beach customers. Utility coordination is needed only when the proposed work affects the utility supply or requires its involvement. Confirm the provider on your bill; service territories vary across the wider area.
Whether the property is in Carolina Forest, around The Market Common or along Kings Highway, share access and occupancy requirements early. Guardian serves all of Horry County and all of Georgetown County. We identify who is responsible for permits, power interruptions, other-trade work and completion checks in the proposed scope.
Project quotes are free; diagnostic and service-call charges are explained before booking. Guardian provides 24/7 electrical service; call to confirm current availability and scheduling. We offer a two-year installation warranty on everything we install; ask how it applies to the proposed work. View our license and credentials.
Your questions, answered
Can a contractor plug tools in immediately after installation?
Use begins after the required electrical completion, inspection and utility connection steps. The project’s authorization and readiness must be confirmed.
What affects the price?
Equipment, capacity, utility requirements, location, route, site access, inspections and removal or restoration scope all affect the project.
Can you add electrical wiring without opening every wall?
The cable route and building conditions determine where access is needed. Some work can use available attic, crawlspace or wall access; other routes require openings. We define finish-repair responsibilities before the work is approved.
Does new wiring mean I have to upgrade the electrical service too?
New wiring does not automatically require an electrical service upgrade. A load calculation, an assessment of existing and proposed demand, helps determine capacity. New equipment and future plans should be considered together.
Based in Myrtle Beach, Guardian serves all of Horry County and all of Georgetown County. See our service area and verify our South Carolina license.
