A replacement or a new lighting layout?
If you already have can lights, share photos and any available fixture information. An LED retrofit, replacement of existing equipment and new ceiling locations require different work. Moving a light or adding several locations may involve new wiring and patching where old openings remain. We define those changes before you order a full set of fixtures.
Plan around the surfaces you want to light
Room dimensions, cabinet placement, work areas, furniture and ceiling height help guide a layout. Explain whether the goal is general room lighting, a brighter counter or an accent area. Discuss the desired light appearance and whether separate zones make sense. A simple sketch with proposed furniture and cabinets is more useful than guessing a universal spacing between lights.
Review what is above the ceiling
Framing, access, insulation and existing wiring affect the fixture choice and installation route. The selected fixture’s instructions and ratings need to suit its location. Tell us whether the room has an attic above it, another occupied floor or an open ceiling during renovation. Include any planned drywall, painting or cabinet work in the sequence.

Controls and cost factors
Dimming should be planned with the actual LED equipment, because compatible products matter. The estimate also depends on fixture quantity, new versus existing locations, wiring routes, circuit changes and access. For a shop or office, identify display positions, work areas and operating hours. Guardian can discuss installation around the agreed project conditions; a request does not reserve an after-hours work window.

Questions about recessed lighting
Are can lights and recessed lights different services?
Can lights are one common form of recessed lighting. We use this page for the same practical project, while reviewing the type of fixture appropriate for your ceiling.
Can existing cans be converted to LED?
We can assess the existing equipment and compatible replacement options. Send available model information; the trim opening alone does not establish which retrofit will suit the installation.
Will installing lights require ceiling repairs?
New routes, moved locations and access conditions may require openings or patching. We identify that possibility and confirm who handles finish repairs before the work is scheduled.
