Commercial lighting repairs and upgrades

Good lighting needs to suit the work happening in the space. Guardian helps businesses address lighting faults, replace fixtures and plan LED upgrades with access, controls and occupied areas in mind.

Tell us about your project

Repair the problem or plan a wider change

If lights are flickering, dark or behaving differently, tell us whether one fixture, a group or a whole area is affected. Describe when it started and any recent work. The cause may involve a fixture, control or supply problem; replacing every light should not be the starting assumption.

For an upgrade, explain what you want to improve: usable light over a work area, consistency across an office, visibility at a display or an aging collection of fixtures. Photos and fixture labels can help identify the existing arrangement when safely visible. Leave elevated fixtures and electrical covers for the professional assessment.

Review fixtures, controls and the space together

Commercial LED retrofit work can involve different approaches depending on the existing equipment. Product compatibility, mounting and controls need to be checked together. Guardian can review the selected fixtures and the installation scope before you order a large quantity of replacements.

Include dimmers, occupancy controls, switching groups and the way the business uses each area. For a retail layout, show the counters and displays; for an office, show the work areas and partitions. We do not promise a particular energy saving or payback period without a project-specific comparison.

Plan access and interruptions

Ceiling height, fixture weight, access equipment, furniture and customer areas affect installation. Tell us about restricted access, staff-only spaces and times when an area can be cleared. Any special work window or interruption to power must be agreed for the actual site.

The estimate depends on fixture quantities and types, existing wiring, control changes, access and any repairs discovered during review. A few failed fixtures and a whole-space upgrade are different scopes. For a larger renovation, lighting should be coordinated with the tenant layout and other electrical work rather than decided after the finishes are complete.

Guardian serves homes and businesses in Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest, all of Horry County and all of Georgetown County. We travel to your property; share the address and scope so we can discuss the next step. See our service areas.

Questions about commercial lighting

Can you replace only a few commercial light fixtures?

Yes. Share the locations, symptoms or replacement models and access conditions. A small repair or installation can be reviewed separately from a larger upgrade.

Will new LED lights work with the existing dimmer?

That depends on the exact lights, drivers and controls. Send the model information so compatibility can be reviewed before treating a fixture change as a direct swap.

Can installation be planned while the business remains open?

Explain customer hours, occupied areas and interruption limits. Guardian discusses a workable sequence and confirms availability; after-hours work or uninterrupted operation is not automatically included.

High-bay, parking-lot, sign and emergency lighting

Share the type of space and the actual fixture locations: warehouse high-bay lighting, exterior wall packs, parking-lot poles, illuminated signs, exit signs or emergency lighting. Mounting height, access equipment, traffic control and business hours can change the work plan. For LED conversions, fixture condition, light distribution, controls and the suitability of any retrofit kit matter alongside wattage. Emergency and exit lighting require review against the property’s approved requirements and the equipment instructions. Tell us who handles building access, sign work and any separate life-safety-system responsibilities so the electrical scope is clear.
