Choose the appliance before finalizing the circuit
A freestanding range, separate wall oven and countertop cooktop do not necessarily use the same connection. Share each model and its installation instructions. We review the load, connection method and existing electrical supply before planning the circuit. If you are changing from gas cooking, include that in the request rather than assuming an electric supply is already available.
Induction cooking and kitchen upgrades
An induction cooktop is an electrical load that must be planned around the selected model. A new kitchen may also add a second oven, microwave, warmer or larger refrigerator. Consider the complete equipment list while the design is flexible. We can review the electrical demand and flag related panel or service work before countertops and cabinetry are completed.
Receptacle and hardwired arrangements
Some cooking appliances use a cord and receptacle; others connect at a junction box. Existing three-prong or four-prong connections need assessment against the actual wiring and equipment requirements. The accessible location must work with the appliance and cabinets. Send the appliance’s installation drawing so we can coordinate the connection area with the cabinet and appliance installers.
Replacement, relocation and troubleshooting
Guardian can discuss replacing a damaged range receptacle, moving an oven connection or diagnosing a circuit that trips when cooking equipment is used. Tell us whether the problem affects the whole appliance, a particular function or other circuits as well. We test the building supply and explain when a fault appears to require appliance service.
Define the project boundaries
Electrical work, appliance positioning, gas disconnection, ventilation, cabinet changes and final finish repairs should be assigned in the proposal and construction schedule. For a working kitchen, share how long the space can be unavailable. A careful equipment schedule helps avoid a finished kitchen with an inaccessible or unsuitable electrical connection.
Guardian serves homes and businesses in Myrtle Beach, Carolina Forest, all of Horry County and all of Georgetown County. We travel to your property; share the address and scope so we can discuss the next step. See our service areas.
Questions about electrical connections for ranges, ovens and cooktops
Can you wire an induction cooktop?
Yes. Send the exact model and proposed location so we can assess its electrical requirements and the existing system.
Can the old stove outlet be reused?
Possibly, after the circuit and equipment requirements are checked. A physically matching plug alone does not establish suitability.
Can you coordinate with my kitchen contractor?
Yes. We can use the cabinet layout, equipment schedule and construction timing to define the electrical work and handoffs.
