Give your garage or work area power matched to the tools you actually use, with outlets and distribution planned around the workspace.

Match the circuit to the equipment
Review the model number, electrical rating and existing supply before choosing wiring or protection.
Plan the connection and cable route
Confirm the mounting or outlet location, access, disconnects and any work through finished areas.
Confirm scope, permits and scheduling
We identify permit and inspection requirements for the property jurisdiction. Utility coordination is included when the work affects its equipment or supply. You receive the proposed scope before approving the work.
Complete the work and check operation
We complete the agreed electrical work, test the relevant installation and explain operation, findings and any follow-up. Required official inspections are a separate part of completion.
Welders, air compressors, dust collectors and larger shop tools can have different voltage, current and starting requirements. Plug shape is only one clue; the nameplate and manufacturer instructions determine the supply. A 240V circuit is not a generic answer for every machine. Some equipment also requires a specific phase or connection arrangement.
Tell us which tools may run together, including dust collection, heat, lighting and battery charging. A compressor motor can create a different starting demand from a small bench tool. We review existing capacity and discuss whether individual circuits or a workshop subpanel best serves the layout. A subpanel adds distribution convenience; it does not create additional utility capacity.
Outlet positions should account for tool movement, cord reach, benches and clear working space around electrical equipment. Detached shops also need a suitable feeder route and grounding review. Outdoor routes, trenching and finished surfaces can dominate labor more than the receptacle itself. Let us know about future equipment while the route is being planned.
A trip may involve loading, wiring, a protective device, motor condition or a fault in the machine. We establish when it occurs and what else operates on the supply. Installing a larger breaker without evaluating the complete circuit and tool is not a repair. Electrical checks and machine servicing are coordinated where their scopes meet.
Do not assume compatibility. Voltage, neutral requirements, protection, receptacle and circuit ratings must match the welder and installation.
Equipment requirements, distance, routing, panel capacity, trenching and the number of circuits all affect the job. Compare the complete written scope.
A matching plug does not establish that an existing circuit is suitable for new equipment. We review the model’s supply requirements, circuit condition and protection. Voltage, the electrical supply level, and current requirements both matter.
The equipment instructions, electrical demand and applicable rules determine the circuit arrangement. A dedicated circuit, a separate supply for particular equipment, can avoid overloading a shared circuit. Share the model information before purchasing or scheduling.
Guardian offers free quotes for planned projects. A fault-finding visit or service call can involve a diagnostic charge, explained before booking. Access, equipment requirements and the work identified determine the proposed repair or installation scope.
Share the property address, the problem or project you have in mind, and equipment details when available. Photos of accessible equipment and the work area can help us plan the next step. Do not remove electrical covers or expose wiring to take photographs.
