Guardian provides data cabling installation for offices, access points, cameras and home workspaces, with clear cable routes, labeled endpoints and an agreed testing scope.
On this page: Project details · Common questions
Define the equipment and connections
Review the selected devices, controls, power requirements and communication connections. Confirm the functions needed before choosing wiring.
Plan routes and device locations
Lay out cable routes, terminations and mounting locations around access and equipment instructions. Identify network, mechanical or other trade dependencies.
Confirm scope, permits and scheduling
We identify permit and inspection requirements for the property jurisdiction. Utility coordination is included when the work affects its equipment or supply. You receive the proposed scope before approving the work.
Complete the work and check operation
We complete the agreed electrical work, test the relevant installation and explain operation, findings and any follow-up. Required official inspections are a separate part of completion.
Data cabling is one part of a building’s low voltage wiring. Ethernet cabling creates a physical connection between equipment and network hardware. Wi-Fi provides wireless access from an access point. A wired connection to a desk or access point can improve how the building network is arranged, but cannot guarantee an internet speed above the service, equipment or application limits.
Cable category is only part of the installation. Jacks, patch panels, connectors, route length and termination quality affect the link. CAT6A may be useful for particular performance requirements, while CAT6 may suit others. We compare the required data rate and route length, then plan the complete path and components for the intended use rather than selecting from a jacket label alone.
List desks, TVs, wireless access points, cameras and equipment rooms. Identify where the router, switch and patch panel will be located, how equipment will receive power and whether future outlets are likely. Power over Ethernet, or PoE, can supply compatible devices through data cabling; the switch or injector must support the devices and total power demand.
For television mounting and wiring, send the TV model, proposed wall location and any mount you already own. Guardian plans the mounting, an appropriate power connection and the data or AV cable route together. Wall construction, the TV’s mounting pattern and the mount’s weight rating determine the support; screen size alone is not enough. Agree on equipment locations and any wall-repair responsibility before installation.
Routes should suit the building, cable rating, separation needs and access. The proposal identifies endpoints and labeling and defines the checks included. Basic continuity or wire-map testing and category-performance certification are different deliverables. If a project needs a formal certification report or a specified warranty, agree on those requirements in advance.
Finished-wall access, ceiling conditions, distances and endpoint count affect labor. Network administration, internet subscriptions and software configuration should be assigned separately if they are outside the agreed cabling work.
Often, but the route and access need assessment. Attic or crawlspace access, wall construction and restoration affect the options.
No. Cabling, network hardware, Wi-Fi conditions and the provider connection are separate possible causes. We define which part is being evaluated.
Potentially, if the cable route, terminations and compatible power and network equipment are planned for those devices. Share the access-point or camera models and locations. Guardian defines the fixed-cabling work separately from internet service, network administration and proprietary system configuration.
The route and available access determine whether cables can be concealed or need another agreed method. Finished walls, fire-rated assemblies and inaccessible spaces can change the options. Guardian discusses anticipated access; patching, painting and specialist network configuration are included only when specified.
Guardian offers free quotes for planned projects. A fault-finding visit or service call can involve a diagnostic charge, explained before booking. Access, equipment requirements and the work identified determine the proposed repair or installation scope.
Share the property address, the problem or project you have in mind, and equipment details when available. Photos of accessible equipment and the work area can help us plan the next step. Do not remove electrical covers or expose wiring to take photographs.
