Guardian repairs switches and installs dimmers, timers, motion sensors and compatible smart controls in Myrtle Beach homes and businesses. We help you choose how a room should work, then match the control to the lights, fan, wiring and connected equipment.

Understand how the device will be used
Identify the outlet or control location, connected equipment and whether this is a replacement, relocation or new installation.
Check wiring and protection
Assess the circuit, connections and required shock or arc-fault protection. Match switches and dimmers to the equipment they control.
Confirm scope, permits and scheduling
We identify permit and inspection requirements for the property jurisdiction. Utility coordination is included when the work affects its equipment or supply. You receive the proposed scope before approving the work.
Complete the work and check operation
We complete the agreed electrical work, test the relevant installation and explain operation, findings and any follow-up. Required official inspections are a separate part of completion.
A toggle and a broad rocker are different control styles; either appearance alone does not reveal whether a switch is single-pole or part of a multi-location arrangement. A slider or dial commonly adjusts brightness, while a fan control must be intended for the connected fan. A matching faceplate does not establish compatibility.
Describe whether the problem occurs at full brightness, only while dimmed or only from one switch location. A dimmer with a small usable range raises a different question from lights dimming throughout the house. You can share the bulb or fixture model from packaging without taking a control out of the wall.
A single-pole switch controls a load from one location. A three-way arrangement lets two locations operate the same light; a four-way switch can be part of control from three or more locations. These names describe the switching arrangement, not the number of bulbs. Tell us where you want to reach the controls and which lights should work together.
Separating kitchen pendants from recessed lighting, adding a hallway control and replacing one failed switch are different scopes. Moving a switch or adding another location may require a new wiring route and finish work; changing the faceplate does not change how the circuit is arranged.
Dimming switch installation starts with matching the control to the exact lamp or LED driver and the amount of lighting connected to it. Incompatible combinations can flicker, buzz, fail to start at a low setting or have a limited dimming range. “Dimmable” on the light’s box is a starting point, not proof that it works with any dimmer.
Guardian reviews the selected products and checks operation through their supported range after installation. A fan-speed control is also a different device from a lighting dimmer; the fan motor and its built-in electronics determine compatible options.
Describe a switch that only works in one position, flickering that began after a lamp change, or a control that no longer operates the fixture. These symptoms can involve the device, connected lighting or wiring. Electrical testing and compatibility review guide the repair. Unusual heat, burning odor or abnormal noise should be assessed rather than worked around with another switch.
Often it is a useful option to assess. The connected lights, their dimming capability, existing wiring and selected dimmer determine a suitable installation.
Yes. Tell us which switch locations operate the same light and how the behavior changed. We diagnose the arrangement rather than assuming one visible switch is the only fault.
No universal answer applies. Requirements vary by product and existing installation. Share the exact model before purchase so any necessary wiring or equipment changes can be discussed.
Some products support compatible companion controls or a particular multi-location arrangement; others do not. The exact model, existing wiring and connected lamps or drivers determine the options. Guardian reviews those requirements before replacing controls; matching switch appearance is not enough.
Guardian offers free quotes for planned projects. A fault-finding visit or service call can involve a diagnostic charge, explained before booking. Access, equipment requirements and the work identified determine the proposed repair or installation scope.
Share the property address, the problem or project you have in mind, and equipment details when available. Photos of accessible equipment and the work area can help us plan the next step. Do not remove electrical covers or expose wiring to take photographs.
