Guardian adds, moves and replaces outlets for Myrtle Beach homes and businesses. Whether a plug no longer stays in place or you need power beside a desk, counter or garage workbench, we review the intended use, circuit and location before choosing the receptacle.

Understand how the device will be used
Identify the outlet or control location, connected equipment and whether this is a replacement, relocation or new installation.
Check wiring and protection
Assess the circuit, connections and required shock or arc-fault protection. Match switches and dimmers to the equipment they control.
Confirm scope, permits and scheduling
We identify permit and inspection requirements for the property jurisdiction. Utility coordination is included when the work affects its equipment or supply. You receive the proposed scope before approving the work.
Complete the work and check operation
We complete the agreed electrical work, test the relevant installation and explain operation, findings and any follow-up. Required official inspections are a separate part of completion.
An additional plug-in location, a worn outlet and a sparking outlet repair are different requests. Describe the intended equipment or the symptom first. Guardian reviews the location, existing wiring and agreed scope before proposing an outlet, switch, circuit or connection repair.
View the quad outlet upgrade in Myrtle Beach. That project added plug-in positions at one location; more positions do not by themselves increase electrical capacity.
A standard duplex receptacle provides two plug-in positions. Its electrical rating and configuration must suit the circuit and equipment; a different-looking face does not create additional power or change a 120V circuit into 240V.
Tamper-resistant, or TR, receptacles use internal shutters to restrict access by foreign objects. Weather-resistant, or WR, receptacles are designed for exposed environmental conditions. Those are different features: a device may have both, and outdoor work also needs the appropriate enclosure and cover.
USB-A and USB-C outlets add charging ports. Compare the device’s charging needs, supported Power Delivery features and available output when multiple ports are used. The USB connector shape alone does not establish charging speed.
Smart receptacles can switch compatible plug-in loads through supported controls or an app. Load ratings, wiring requirements, network compatibility and indoor/outdoor suitability vary by model. Tell us what you want to control before buying a device; a smart outlet is not a universal controller for every appliance.
GFCI protection responds to ground faults to help reduce electric-shock risk. AFCI (arc-fault protection that detects certain hazardous arcing patterns to reduce electrical fire risk) protection addresses dangerous arcing that can start a fire. Dual-function products combine both. Depending on the installation, protection may be provided by a receptacle, a breaker or an appropriate combination; the buttons on one outlet do not describe the whole circuit.
Guardian reviews the existing wiring and location before recommending a device. Replacing a two-slot receptacle with a three-slot face does not create an equipment-grounding path. Share the concern without removing the outlet or cover.
Replacing a worn receptacle uses an existing location, but the box, wiring and connections still need review. Relocating one adds a route between the old and new positions and may leave an opening to repair. A new outlet can sometimes use a suitable existing circuit; equipment with greater or specific electrical needs may require a dedicated circuit.
Adding plug-in positions does not add circuit capacity. Tell us what you intend to run at the same time, not just how many outlets you want. A wall-mounted television, office desk, freezer and workshop tool raise different power and placement questions. For appliance-specific connections, see 240-volt circuit work.
Yes. Describe the location and problem. A worn receptacle may need replacement, but the circuit and connection must be reviewed if there are signs of a wider fault.
No. USB charging adds a convenient function; it does not increase the capacity of the circuit supplying it. Equipment demand still needs to suit the installation.
Yes. Guardian reviews a suitable wiring route, the intended use and whether an existing circuit or a new dedicated circuit (a separate electrical supply for particular equipment, which helps avoid overloading a shared circuit) is appropriate before confirming the scope.
No. The face of a receptacle does not create an equipment-grounding path. Guardian checks the wiring and explains the suitable protection, labeling or wiring work for the existing installation.
Guardian offers free quotes for planned projects. A fault-finding visit or service call can involve a diagnostic charge, explained before booking. Access, equipment requirements and the work identified determine the proposed repair or installation scope.
Share the property address, the problem or project you have in mind, and equipment details when available. Photos of accessible equipment and the work area can help us plan the next step. Do not remove electrical covers or expose wiring to take photographs.
