Plan a powered gate as a coordinated electrical, control and mechanical system, with proper attention to the route and safety functions.

Define the equipment and connections
Review the selected devices, controls, power requirements and communication connections. Confirm the functions needed before choosing wiring.
Plan routes and device locations
Lay out cable routes, terminations and mounting locations around access and equipment instructions. Identify network, mechanical or other trade dependencies.
Confirm scope, permits and scheduling
We identify permit and inspection requirements for the property jurisdiction. Utility coordination is included when the work affects its equipment or supply. You receive the proposed scope before approving the work.
Complete the work and check operation
We complete the agreed electrical work, test the relevant installation and explain operation, findings and any follow-up. Required official inspections are a separate part of completion.
Swing and sliding gates have different movement and installation conditions. The operator must suit the gate, use and site. The supply requirements, control components and manufacturer instructions establish the electrical plan. A motor that moves the gate is not, by itself, evidence of a complete suitable installation.
Moving gates can create trapping or crushing hazards. Listed operator requirements and compatible protective devices need to be followed, with the gate geometry and operating area reviewed. Sensors and protective functions must not be bypassed to restore movement. Gate structure, hardware and electrical work are coordinated with the responsible installers.
Distance from the electrical supply, underground routing, vehicle access and water exposure affect the project. Readers, keypads, intercoms or access control may need separate communication paths. A solar-powered operator has equipment-specific battery and charging needs; its suitability depends on the location and expected use.
Send the operator model, photographs taken from a safe position and a description of the fault. Tell us whether the gate stops, trips its supply or responds differently to controls. We define electrical diagnosis separately from structural and mechanical gate repairs. Installation pricing considers power distance, trenching, controls, safety-device coordination and testing.
The selected operator and installation conditions determine the suitable supply and protection. Distance, cable route and the existing circuit need review.
Keep the protective function in service and arrange diagnosis. Bypassing it can introduce a serious hazard.
Routing, trenching, underground-utility coordination and surface restoration must be assigned in the proposal. Distance, terrain, the selected operator and access affect the electrical plan. Share the gate location and supplier information early; a nearby outdoor outlet does not establish a complete installation scope.
Those responsibilities must be confirmed with the gate supplier. Guardian defines the electrical supply and connection work separately from mechanical adjustment, proprietary programming and acceptance of safety functions. The operator and protection requirements are reviewed before commissioning responsibilities are agreed.
Guardian offers free quotes for planned projects. A fault-finding visit or service call can involve a diagnostic charge, explained before booking. Access, equipment requirements and the work identified determine the proposed repair or installation scope.
Share the property address, the problem or project you have in mind, and equipment details when available. Photos of accessible equipment and the work area can help us plan the next step. Do not remove electrical covers or expose wiring to take photographs.
